Freya has worked in various fields within youth care and childcare (both regular and specialized). For many years, she worked at an institution for children, teenagers and adults with an intellectual disability in the region Haarlemmermeer and Amstelland. 

Freya has extensive experience in working with children and teenagers with developmental delays and/or behavioural problems. She is experienced in the guidance and treatment of children with autism, (impending) school-dropout, persistent physical symptoms (ALK), trauma and grief. Freya is an educated EMDR therapist (accredited training at the ACT-EMDR Center) and a qualified Brain Blocks therapist. She also has extensive experience in collaborating with parents to optimize treatment outcomes, and she is well acquainted with the social map in the area.
